This BVD Decision Guide will help you create a practical BVD control plan by highlighting areas that may need attention. The plan can then be discussed with your veterinarian to determine the most appropriate approach for your farm. Complete all four sections to identify your on farm BVD control strengths and weaknesses. For each question, choose the most appropriate statement for the situation on farm.

What will the results of the BVD Control Decision Guide provide me?

Upon completion of this, you will get a result each section. Your answers are used to determine areas of key focus to improve your BVD control and reduce the risk of persistently infected animals (PI’s) which will spread BVD in your herd. You can repeat this checklist as often as you like to benchmark against yourself and monitor progress. In consultation with your vet this is a useful tool to identify areas for improvement for you farms BVD control.
